Itinerary:
Day 1: Nairobi – Laikipia Plateau
Depart Nairobi in the morning and head north to the stunning Laikipia Plateau. Arrive in time for lunch at your lodge or eco-camp within one of the community or private conservancies. After a brief rest, enjoy an afternoon game drive. Laikipia is home to endangered species like Grevy’s zebras, wild dogs, reticulated giraffes, and black rhinos. In the evening, relax around a campfire and enjoy dinner under the stars. Overnight in Laikipia.
Day 2: Full Day in Laikipia Conservancy
Spend the day exploring Laikipia with morning and afternoon game drives or walking safaris guided by local rangers. Learn about community-led conservation and sustainable tourism. Optional activities include visiting local Samburu or Maasai communities, horseback safaris, or bird watching. After a rewarding day, return to your accommodation for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Laikipia – Hell’s Gate National Park
After breakfast, depart Laikipia and drive south toward Hell’s Gate National Park near Lake Naivasha. Arrive in time for lunch and a short rest. In the afternoon, enjoy a cycling safari or guided walking tour through Hell’s Gate. Marvel at the towering cliffs, geothermal vents, and rock formations such as Fischer’s Tower and the Central Tower. Explore the gorge if weather permits. Return to your lodge or camp for dinner and overnight in Naivasha.
Day 4: Hell’s Gate – Nairobi
After breakfast, enjoy an optional boat ride on Lake Naivasha or a short visit to nearby Crescent Island (extra cost). Then begin your drive back to Nairobi, arriving in the afternoon. Drop-off at your hotel or airport for your onward journey.
