This 2 days  safari takes you deep into the semi-arid wilderness of Buffalo Springs National Reserve, located in northern Kenya adjacent to Samburu National Reserve. Itinerary:

Day 1: Nairobi – Buffalo Springs National Reserve

Depart Nairobi early in the morning and drive north through central Kenya with scenic views of Mt. Kenya and the lush highlands. Arrive at Buffalo Springs National Reserve by midday and check in at your selected lodge or tented camp. Enjoy lunch and a short rest before heading out for an afternoon game drive. Explore the riverine forests, open savannahs, and acacia woodlands as you search for elephants, lions, leopards, and the unique “Samburu Special Five” – reticulated giraffe, Grevy's zebra, Somali ostrich, gerenuk, and Beisa oryx. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Buffalo Springs – Nairobi

Wake up for an early morning game drive to catch the predators while they are still active and to witness the sunrise over the reserve. After the game drive, return to the lodge for breakfast. You’ll have time to relax or enjoy an optional cultural visit to a nearby Samburu village to learn about the traditions and lifestyle of the local people. Check out and begin your journey back to Nairobi, arriving in the late afternoon.
