Half Day Game Drive in Nairobi National Park
This half-day safari in Nairobi National Park offers a unique opportunity to experience Kenya’s incredible wildlife just minutes away from the city center. Located only 7 km from Nairobi’s central business district, this is the only national park in the world bordering a capital city. Despite its proximity to urban life, the park is a thriving sanctuary for a variety of animals including lions, rhinos, giraffes, buffaloes, zebras, and numerous bird species. The tour is perfect for travelers with limited time who still want to experience a real African safari. Whether you are on a short layover, business trip, or city stay, the Nairobi National Park game drive offers a convenient yet thrilling wildlife experience. Enjoy the picturesque contrast of wild savannah grasslands set against the backdrop of Nairobi’s skyline.
Itinerary: Morning Option (Recommended)
Your driver-guide will pick you up from your hotel, residence, or Jomo Kenyatta International Airport between 6:00 AM and 6:30 AM for an early morning game drive — the best time to spot predators such as lions and leopards before they retreat from the heat of the day. You will enter the park through one of its main gates and begin your game drive across open grass plains and acacia bushlands. Your guide will help you spot and identify various animals such as giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, impalas, and, with luck, the endangered black rhino. The park also hosts more than 400 bird species, making it a paradise for bird enthusiasts. The game drive lasts approximately 4 to 5 hours. Around 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM, you will exit the park and proceed to other nearby attractions (optional) such as the David Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage or Giraffe Centre, or be dropped back at your hotel or airport by 12:00 PM. Duration: Approximately 5 hours Meal Plan: No meals included (optional breakfast stop available).
