5 Days Medical Volunteering Tour in Mombasa for Doctors

Join our 5-days  medical volunteering tour in Mombasa, Kenya, designed specifically for doctors and medical professionals who wish to make a meaningful impact. This program offers an incredible opportunity to work alongside local health practitioners in hospitals, clinics, and outreach centers, providing essential healthcare services to underserved communities. Volunteers will assist in patient care, conduct health education sessions, and participate in mobile clinics. Alongside your professional contributions, you’ll enjoy the coastal charm of Mombasa, experiencing its culture, beaches, and historical sites. This tour blends humanitarian service with a rich cultural experience, making it both rewarding and memorable.

Itinerary:

Day 1: Arrival and Orientation
Arrive at Moi International Airport in Mombasa and meet our local team. You’ll be transferred to your accommodation for a warm welcome, meet fellow volunteers, and receive a detailed orientation about the volunteering program, safety, cultural expectations, and your assigned health facilities. Later, you can relax or take a short guided tour of Mombasa city, including Fort Jesus (time permitting).

Day 2: First Day of Medical Volunteering
After breakfast, transfer to your assigned health center, government hospital, or mobile clinic. Engage in activities such as outpatient services, wound dressing, minor procedures, maternal and child health care, or assisting local doctors in surgery, depending on your specialization and experience. In the afternoon, return to your accommodation for debriefing, dinner, and rest.

Day 3: Full Day of Volunteering and Health Education
Spend a full day at the clinic or hospital, rotating through different departments such as emergency, maternity, pediatric, or surgical wards. In the afternoon, participate in health education initiatives, conducting talks on preventive healthcare, hygiene, or disease management in local communities or schools.

Day 4: Medical Outreach and Community Service
Today you will join a mobile clinic initiative, traveling to a rural area outside Mombasa. Provide basic medical services, screenings, and health consultations to people who have limited access to healthcare. You’ll help in record-keeping, consultations, and distributing medications. In the evening, enjoy a cultural dinner and storytelling session with the local community.

Day 5: Beach Relaxation and Departure
After a rewarding week, spend the morning relaxing at one of Mombasa’s famous beaches like Diani or Nyali Beach. You can enjoy swimming, sunbathing, or optional water sports (at your own cost).
