Trip itinerary

Day 1: Nairobi-Mt.Suswa

You will be picked by our driver from your hotel or airport then drive from Nairobi through the beautiful escapements To Mt.Suswa with a brief stopover at the view point. Then proceed to Mt.Suswa arrive in time for the hike, you will spend the morning hiking up the mountain. The entire area can be hiked including the inner crater and the bottom of the inner crater. The walk up the main summit start at the viewpoint, it takes 1hour to reach the first summit and another hour the second summit. The ridge leading to the main summit has no well-established trails making the section more difficult and slower. Once at the main summit we take our picnic Lunch, relax at the peak as we photograph and start descending as we enjoy game watching. The hike takes approximately 4 hours to the summit and back. Dinner and overnight stay at the camp.

Day 2: Full day exploring the caves

The day kicks off with breakfast from the camp, then proceed with packed lunch for a full day explore of the caves. MT. Suswa is a magnificent extinct volcano in the Rift Valley. It is famed for the many caves on its E slopes. All are easy to access, none are too long or complex and no special gear or knowledge is required to explore these systems. Dinner and overnight stay at the camp.

The suswa caves are home to large population of bats that are said to travel as far as 30km in search of food at night and then retreat to the caves in the morning.as you walk and crawl through the caves you will view the colonies of bats that seem dead to the rest of the world until night when they stream out.one of the interesting location in the caves is the baboons parliament, where baboons troops take shelter from the predators another is the rock painting in one of the chambers attributed to local Masai morons.

Day 3: Mt.Suswa-Nairobi

After breakfast we will have a walk viewing the different species of the birds and wildlife found in the mountain. Afterwards we will disable our camping equipment and depart to Nairobi arriving later in the day with lunch enroute.
